VALLEY, Neb. —

The Valley city administrator and building inspector are stepping down.

On Tuesday, city council accepted both resignations.

Valley city administrator Cameron Gales was hired in August 2024.

He's the fourth administrator for the city in the last five years.

In his resignation letter, Gales said he can no longer work in an environment that, "shows a clear disregard for the professionalism and dedication of our staff."

He also alleged he was depicted in a "racist" and "disrespectful manner" in text messages.

City council did not confirm those allegations or discuss them at Tuesday's meeting.

Gales' last day will be Aug. 19.
