WACO, Texas (KWTX) - The city of Marlin announced during a city council meeting that long-time City of Marlin employee, Justin Parker, announced his upcoming resignation as Fire Chief and Emergency Management Coordinator.

Chief Parker began serving the Marlin community in 2008 as an entry-level firefighter.

He served in various ranks and capacities within the fire department before he became the Fire Chief in 2014.

Chief Parker also served the county and community as a part-time EMT with Falls County EMS and a volunteer firefighter with the Marlin Volunteer Fire Department.

The city says Chief Parker decided to resign after accepting a full-time position with a fast-growing fire department located in the Central Texas region.
