BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Charges against a suspected child predator will move forward after his recent indictment by a federal grand jury.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced on Aug. 13 that Kleider Enrique Garcia-Ochoa, a 30-year-old Venezuelan national living in the United States without authorization, was indicted on the charges of attempted enticement of a minor and attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor.

He reportedly pleaded not guilty to the pending charges.

Officials said that, according to the indictment, Ochoa attempted to convince someone whom he believed to be a 15-year-old boy from Baton Rouge to engage in an illegal sexual relationship with him around late March.

Officials said he also allegedly sent obscene material to the supposed 15-year-old.
