WAIPAHU, Hawaii (Island News) – The Honolulu Police Department (HPD) is on the lookout for a suspect connected to an apparent arson incident that caused a brush fire in the Waipahu area on Tuesday night.
The brush fire occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. at the Kunia Loa Ridge Farmland.
A witness reported that they saw a man standing near the brush before setting it on fire. The suspect then left the scene in a dark-colored four-door sedan with an unknown make, model, and license plate.
The suspect was described as a man, approximately 5’9” tall, with a stocky build.
The Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to the scene and had the fire less than 100% contained by 11:30 p.m., and fully closed the incident by 12:51 a.m.
No injuries or structural damage was reported. Police initiate
