MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Christine Marshall, an 81-year-old homeowner, is finally moving back into her home after years of disrepair.

Action News 5 spoke with Marshall just as a vicious heatwave swept the Mid-South; we learned that she had been living in her car parked outside her home after a tree fell on her property.

Marshall also shared with us that her home had been in disrepair for years, with the roof’s collapse and the loss of AC being the final straw.

Luckily, her story was broadcast for all to see, and one construction company, Titan Drywall and Construction , stepped in to renovate the once-dilapidated home.

The construction crew agreed to renovate the home, and did it for free with the help of money funded through a GoFundMe account that raised over $70,000.
