SALINE COUNTY, Ark. — A nationwide strike has made its way to Arkansas, leading to long trash pickup delays for some residents.
On Wednesday, workers at Arizona-based waste collection company Republic Services held signs and protested outside the company’s Little Rock location.
“We're on strike for unfair labor practice,” said one employee, who asked not to be named.
In a statement that was sent to us, Republic Services said that the strike began in Atlanta, Georgia.
“A few of those employees began picketing outside our Little Rock location this week,” the company said. “Some of our local union employees are choosing not to cross this picket line. As a result, we are experiencing service delays.”
The strike is associated with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, a labor union w
