The Drug Enforcement Agency is working to keep the state of addiction outside of schools. KETV sat down with the DEA to learn what drug-related dangers kids are facing today.
Since January 2025, the DEA has seized over 145,000 fentanyl pills: That's more than triple the amount they seized in all of 2024.
With the increased presence of fentanyl in our state, the DEA says it's more important than ever to keep your kids informed of the dangers of drugs.
Assistant special agent Justin Dillard says, if your child has a phone in their back pocket, they essentially have 24/7 access to drugs such as fentanyl.
Dillard says the cartels are using social media to deliver drugs to people's homes, and with a wide variety of colors, fentanyl can appeal to a younger audience.
