SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The body of a missing New Jersey man was found in the Missouri River early Friday evening and has now been identified.

On Aug. 8, at approximately 5:05 p.m., the Sioux City Police Department, along with Sioux City Fire Rescue, recovered the body of an adult man from the Missouri River, near the boat ramp located at 1280 Larsen Park Road.

On Tuesday, Aug. 12, authorities officially identified the man as 47-year-old Akshay Arora of Hillsborough, New Jersey.

The search for Arora began on Wednesday, Aug. 6, after Sioux City officers were called to investigate his disappearance. Officers say Arora hadn’t been seen or heard from since 5 a.m. that day, and he was reported missing by his colleague after he failed to pick them up for a scheduled flight.
