SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Mercy Hospital in Springfield and Children’s Mercy are announcing more details of their partnership at a community celebration on Thursday.

The two organizations say this partnership has been a long time coming, and in November, Children’s Mercy will start leading pediatric teams at Mercy in Springfield.

President of Mercy Springfield Communities John Myers says having Children’s Mercy services in Springfield will be a great help to families seeking specialized care.

“We provide excellent care here. There are many specialties that we don't offer today where a child may have to travel to Kansas City to seek care or some other city,” John Myers said. “And we hear that all the time from families in the community.”
