CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The city of Cape Girardeau gave an update on various road projects in town on Thursday, August 14.

Westbound Lexington Avenue is closed between Carolina Lane and Perryville Road for weeks.

According to the city, construction started in March 2024 and will take more than 18 months to renovate Carolina Lane to Sherwood Drive, and West Cape Rock Drive to Big Bend Road.

They say most of the project is expected to be finished in October.

On South Sprigg (74 and Southern Expressway), all of the residential blocks are open to local traffic only.

According to the city, Alliance finished the pipe project between Locust and Linden.
