ATLANTA — The Garnett MARTA station will close for real service during platform renovations for about six weeks in September and October, the transit agency said on Thursday . Bus service at the station will not change.
The closure will last from Sept. 13 to Oct. 26. There will be a complimentary bus shuttle running between Garnett and Five Points station during this time, with the transit agency advising riders to allow for an extra 15 minutes on those trips.
The rail station will also not be accessible during this period. Rail service on the Red and Gold lines will continue as scheduled as trains bypass Garnett.
A release said during this closure, crews will be replacing the station's 40-year-old platform pavers.
