SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A non-profit group held an event in South Bend on Thursday to promote the development of electric vehicle infrastructure in the Hoosier State.

The Electrification Coalition showed off a medley of electrical vehicles — including an electric school bus, police cruiser and Rivian service van — at the Martin Luther King Dream Center.

Several public officials were in attendance, along with members of the Walkerton Police Department, checking out the new gear.

“We want to make sure that domestic automakers here in the United States are keeping up with the changes, moving forward for generations to come,” said David Madden, Midwest campaign organizer for the Electrification Coalition.
