CLEVELAND, Ohio — José Ramírez collected three hits and scored three runs, moving past Kenny Lofton for third place on the Guardians’ all-time runs scored list in a 9-4 win Thursday against the Marlins at Progressive Field.

Ramírez, who drove in Cleveland’s first run with a line drive single against Miami starter Edward Cabrera in the first inning, matched Lofton’s 975 runs when he scored on an RBI ground out by Gabriel Arias later in the inning. He passed Lofton in the fifth when he scored the go-ahead run on Arias’ RBI sacrifice fly, and added another as Cleveland scored four times in the seventh to put the game out of reach.
