DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — Thousands of students are moving onto college campuses in Durham just a few days before the first day of class.

North Carolina Central University estimates more than 1,700 first-year students are attending this fall. Thousands more are moving on and around campus.

Junior Saniya Thomas, who moved from Charlotte earlier this week, is helping others get situated.

Freshman Elizabeth Bonet is moving to Durham from New York.
