NEW YORK (PIX11) — The nationwide bakery and cafe chain Panera Bread has agreed to a $2.5 million class action lawsuit settlement in connection with an alleged 2024 breach of customer information.

Those who were impacted, which allegedly included sensitive information like Social Security numbers, could receive up to $6,500 in reimbursement.

The class action settlement benefits those who received a notice from Panera Bread informing them that their information may have been leaked in a data breach on March 23, 2024.

Class members can receive up to $500 for "ordinary out-of-pocket expenses" like communications expenses, credit monitoring and report fees.
