HARRISBURG, Pa. — A recent WalletHub analysis named Pennsylvania the 10th best place to live in the U.S.

The study compared the 50 states based on 51 key indicators of livability, ranging from housing costs and income growth to education rate and quality of hospitals.

Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable living conditions. Some metrics were factored by using the square root of the state's population size in order to avoid overcompensating for minor differences across states.

Each state's weighted average across all metrics was calculated to determine the overall score.
