MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- New concerns about training and conditioning programs for Memphis student-athletes rise after a student was rushed to the hospital last week.

For at least the second time this school year, a teen was taken to the hospital after a health scare.

Memphis-Shelby County Schools said a student at Trezevant High School had a medical emergency.

A Trezevant High School student was taken to the hospital after experiencing a medical emergency after practice.

Memphis-Shelby County Schools said on August 12, that the child finished conditioning inside the school gym ahead of basketball tryouts.

The child’s mother was also at practice and took him to the hospital afterwards; however, MSCS says the student appeared to be fine when he left the school.

He’s since returned to Trezeva
