SAGINAW, MI – A preliminary examination was held this week for a man accused of fatally shooting a travel nurse’s assistant in Saginaw earlier this year.
Williams went before Saginaw County District Court Judge Elian E.H. Fitchner for the examination on Monday, Aug. 18.
Demetrius B. Williams, 31, is accused of killing 27-year-old Eliza Vega-Aparicio, who was from California at a Cypress Street home she was staying at in Saginaw, at approximately 4 a.m. on April 5.
Williams faces multiple charges stemming from the incident , including open murder, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and three counts of third-offense felony firearm.
If convicted, Williams could face life in prison.
