SHREVEPORT, La. _ The Caddo Parish School Board approved a one-time $1,500 stipend for all eligible district employees. The payment will be issued Sept. 12 to staff who are employed and eligible for benefits as of Sept. 1, and who remain active on the payment date. The bonus is funded by higher-than-expected local tax revenues.

The district’s stipend comes in addition to a state-approved bonus signed into law by Gov. Jeff Landry, which provides $2,000 for certified teachers and $1,000 for support staff.

Superintendent Keith Burton said the stipend is intended to recognize the dedication of teachers and staff. “Our teachers and staff give so much to our students every day, and we want them to know how much they are appreciated,” Burton said.
