Emmerdale has been flooded with complaints, reported Ofcom, after scenes showing a horrific assault aired earlier this month.

Ofcom shared that the Yorkshire-based ITV soap received over 200 complaints after an episode aired that showed Vinny Dingle getting attacked.

As the character prepares to say "I do" to fiancé Gabby Thomas, Vinny has been questioning his sexuality after a near-kiss with close friend Kammy Hadiq.

In an episode that aired earlier this month, Vinny agreed to meet with "Mike" whom he met online in a chat room for support.
