The August bank holiday is fast approaching and Southeastern passengers have been urged to “plan ahead” as engineering works will close multiple key lines in Kent . Across the three-day weekend, the vast majority of services will run as normal, however there are some key alterations to navigate around.
While there are no major planned line closures on the Southeastern network on Saturday (August 23), Lewisham station will then close for the entirety of Sunday (August 24) and Monday (August 25). On these dates, crews will be working to install new signalling equipment buildings as part of the £90 million Lewisham re-signalling scheme at Parks Bridge junction, which is replacing old 1970s signalling equipment with modern and more reliable technology.
