LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 29-year-old Omaha man was arrested early Friday after Nebraska State Patrol troopers say he led them on a high-speed motorcycle chase topping 150 miles per hour near Lincoln.
According to NSP, a trooper saw a motorcycle rider speeding, with no license plates, on eastbound I-80 near the 56th Street interchange on Thursday at 11:45 p.m.
The trooper attempted a traffic stop. NSP said the rider, 29-year-old Travis Knipp of Omaha, initially slowed down to 75 miles per hour, but refused to pull over.
According to NSP, Knipp then accelerated and fled, with the trooper following. Knipp reached speeds above 150 miles per hour and passed multiple vehicles on the shoulder as he continued eastbound on I-80.
The NSP AirWing was activated and flew to the area east of Lincoln
