Isolated rain and thunderstorms will return to the northern half of New Mexico this weekend. Even more monsoon moisture will bring widespread storms and cooler temperatures next week.
Fewer storms have popped up Friday afternoon, mainly in western and northern New Mexico, along with southwest Colorado. The heat continues today too with high temperatures above average for this time of year. Storms will end later tonight with clearing skies and mild overnight low temperatures.
Monsoon moisture will move back into the northern half of New Mexico this weekend. This will bring more showers and storms to areas in western New Mexico and areas along and north of I-40.
