BLAINE COUNTY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — School resource officers play an essential role in young people’s lives by keeping students safe and providing support.
“They’re helping with safety and security, obviously, but really with students, we’re doing everything we can to engage them,” said Blaine County Sheriff Morgan Ballis.
He knows firsthand the importance of a school resource officer. He didn’t just work as one; he was the Idaho Association of School Resource Officers president.
He said SROs fill many roles at their assigned schools, serving as mentors, educators, and law enforcement officers.
