While the playmakers have received plenty of attention as Seton Catholic rose to join the state’s best Class 1A programs, the blue-collar guys in the trenches shouldn’t be overlooked.

As the Cougars pursue their goals of another Trico League title and deep playoff run, head coach Dan Chase believes the linemen will play a big role in how this season unfolds.

“That’s the core of every team,” Chase said. “The greatest growth we saw as program is how hard those athletes are working.”

Anchoring the offensive and defensive lines are Alex Dayoob and Jamarcus Robinson, a pair of seniors who can match any at their positions when it comes to size and strength.

Dayoob (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) and Robinson (6-foot-1, 315 pounds) each earned first-team all-league honors last season and were selected
