WATERTOWN, Wis. -- A woman was injured after being attacked by four dogs in Watertown on Saturday morning.

The Watertown Police Department said the attack happened while the woman was out on a walk near Milford Street and Cobblestone Way, at 5:55 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers located the woman with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. As officers attempted to help her, the dogs charged toward them, police said. An officer fired, striking one dog, which later died.

The three remaining dogs were seized as part of the investigation. The victim was taken to Aurora Summit Hospital for treatment. The investigation is ongoing.
