CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - A lucky Lowcountry man has won the South Carolina Educational Lottery's largest Pick 4 prize payout to a single player.
According to the South Carolina Educational Lottery, the man won a total of $811,000 in the Pick 4 midday drawing earlier this month.
“I was excited, of course,” said the winner, who does not wish to be identified.
The winner told the staff at the Towne Center Market that he had a good feeling about the numbers 1-7-3-1. He man tested his luck and played those numbers across 162 tickets at the cost of $339, the South Carolina Educational Lottery reports.
Another customer at the Towne Center Market overheard the man's suspicion, and also played 1-7-3-1 too, and won $25,400.
Almost all of the tickets were played straight at odds of 1 in 10,000.
