At 73, Andrew Esfakis says he’s still living like he’s 30.
“I work out every day, work, go home, coach Little League. I do everything I did 40 years ago,” the Schererville resident says.
Esfakis, who owns Economy Paving, says each day he puts one foot in front of the other — literally and figuratively. Five to six days a week, Esfakis walks a couple of miles and lifts weights for at least an hour. He follows an organic, vegan diet, and regularly gets a clean bill of health from his doctors.
“I have a 24-year-old granddaughter, and I’d like to see her kids,” he said. “I’d like to stick around for a while.”
In just a few years, Esfakis hopes he’ll join South Side Chicago resident William Scott, who at 85, is clinically known as a super ager.
