DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WPTA) - One person was injured in a crash in DeKalb County on Saturday.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 4:15 p.m. in the 5200 block of County Road 28.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the 2006 Subaru Forrester was traveling west on County Road 28 when its tires caught the shoulder of the roadway.
The driver, 38-year-old Tyler Garten of Auburn, overcorrected, causing the vehicle to fishtail and lose control before striking a 2003 Honda Accord that was traveling eastbound.
Garten’s vehicle then continued off the roadway, striking a tree.
Garten was taken to the hospital for a head injury. The other driver was uninjured.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
