OOLITIC — Oolitic residents north of 3rd Street may temporarily lose water service on Wednesday morning as town crews replace a broken fire hydrant.

The Oolitic Water Works said the work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on August 27 on a hydrant located a half block west of Hoosier Avenue, between 3rd Street and Main Street.

Residents, businesses, and property owners in the affected area could experience low to no water pressure while repairs are underway. Officials said they hope to finish the project within a couple of hours and do not anticipate complications.
