WOODSTOCK — With a comb in hand and a caring touch, 19-year-old Olivia Elizabeth Dellinger fluffed and brushed her steer, Enzo, on Monday morning in preparation for Tuesday’s market beef show at the Shenandoah County Fair.
Known for his thick, fluffy coat, due to his genetics, Enzo gets plenty of pampering.
“He’s known for his hair growth,” Dellinger said, explaining that Enzo has a hair-care routine that includes a daily rinse and a weekly bath and conditioning.
“It helps with hair growth and maintaining it,” she said. “It’s also trained to go forward.”
Dellinger was one of many Shenandoah County 4-H/FFA members preparing their animals on Monday for this week's shows as fair visitors walked the exhibits and took in the various open shows and the grading of animals in the arena.
