KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Thousands flocked to Western Michigan University's campus for this year's "Bronco Bash" ahead of a new academic year. The annual event celebrates the new semester with giveaways, outdoor games and more.
Organizers say the bash brought together around 400 different vendors and stalls from campus services to local businesses. Marketing and design intern Rasharde Banks-Dancy said the event helps connect new and returning students to the wider Kalamazoo community.
"When you come to Western and you go to Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo is all about Western. So to have that connection between community and the campus is to see a whole new world in essence and be able to navigate so many things that you might have not been able to navigate without it," said Banks-Dancy.
