NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A home up for sale in East Nashville suffered ‘significant damage’ after a fire on Wednesday morning.

Flames were shooting through the roof of the home when Nashville Fire crews arrived at the intersection of Stratford Avenue and Inglewood Circle around 1 a.m.

NFD crews were able to enter the home and extinguish the fire. The home now has a giant hole in the roof, according to NFD.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire, and neighbors said the home had been for sale for some time.

The fire is under investigation.
