A schoolboy pleaded with his mum to let him die after being engulfed in flames during a horrific accident.

Hunter Jory was playing with friends in a field during the school holidays when tragedy struck. One child had lit a small fire - but another threw a petrol can onto the flames, sparking a massive explosion that consumed Hunter, 12.

The lad managed to run to a mate's house, where someone rang his mum Kim. She raced him to a local GP surgery whilst waiting for paramedics.

Kim, from Sheffield, said her son was in such agony he begged her to end his torment. "It was heartbreaking," Kim, 38, told NeedToKnow.

"When I got the call saying Hunter was in agony and needed to go to hospital, I assumed he'd been run over."
