Frederick County Sheriff’s Capt. Warren Gosnell was recognized last week by the Virginia Association of Chiefs of Police (VACP) for his decades of commitment to traffic enforcement and education, receiving the inaugural Roadway Safety Leadership Award at the association’s 100th annual conference.
The award, presented Tuesday during the four-day gathering in Williamsburg, “recognizes a law enforcement supervisor or command staff member, who is a driving force in making roadway safety a high priority focus of his or her department,” according to VACP. Gosnell, the sheriff’s office traffic safety coordinator, was one of two recipients selected statewide.
