PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — The man arrested in an officer-involved shooting in Pawtucket earlier this year is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
Police were called to the area of Broad Street and Goff Avenue on June 8 for reports of a man pointing a gun at himself and others.
Officer Thomas Letourneau fired his gun once and hit the suspect, 28-year-old Sebastian Yidana, in the shoulder, according to police.
“Was this a shot by the officer? Was he shot by an officer? I don’t know. Was it an officer that did this? OIS OIS,” officers were heard saying in released bodycam footage.
Video showed additional officers at the scene providing aid to Yidana, who was then taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
