DESOTO, Texas — A security guard shot two people outside a North Texas sports bar after they reportedly fired shots at the security guard, police said.

The incident unfolded around 3 a.m. Thursday outside of a sports bar in the 900 block of West Belt Line Road, according to a police news release.

Police said witnesses reported that security guards were escorting the man out of the bar to a vehicle when someone else in the vehicle pulled out a gun. Police said it was reported that both people near the vehicle -- the man who was being escorted out and the other person in the vehicle -- fired shots at the security guards. One of the security guards returned fire and wounded both suspects, according to police.
