INDIANAPOLIS (WNDU/ WTHR ) - Indiana Gov. Mike Braun has appointed a new official and tasked her with finding ways to save money for the state’s utility ratepayers.
Earlier this week, the governor announced he appointed Abby Gray as the new Office of the Utility Consumer counselor.
“I am directing the Utility Consumer Counselor, who is Indiana’s ratepayer advocate, to evaluate utilities’ profits along with other cost saving measures to ease the burden on ratepayers,” the governor said in a written statement. “I would also like to see the utilities’ investors bear more of the cost of doing business.”
Gov. Braun says the goal of the investigation is to find cost-saving measures for Hoosiers.
