Work has begun on a £1m project to breathe new life into Plymouth’s massive ex-Millennium nightclub. Nudge Community Builders has been given £600,000 by social impact investor Resonance and independent funder Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to transform the former nightspot/cinema in Union Street into a live music venue, community spaces for young people and the wider community, workshops and a café bar.
The joint investment will be used to purchase the remaining 50% of the building. A £480,000 grant from the Government’s Youth Investment Fund has already been secured to support internal works.
