DALLAS (WFAA) - Police say a 50-year-old man was attacked and beheaded with a machete following an argument at a Dallas motel, and a suspect is in custody.

Dallas Police responded to the Downtown Suites motel around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and found a suspect had cut a man “with an edged weapon several times.” The victim, identified as 50-year-old Chandra Nagamallaiah, died at the scene.

Officials say the suspect, 37-year-old Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, is in custody and has been charged with capital murder in connection with the killing.

According to an arrest affidavit, a witness said she and Cobos-Martinez were cleaning a motel room when Nagamallaiah approached and told the suspect not to use a broken washing machine. She told police Cobos-Martinez became upset because the victim was speaki
