ATLANTA — The Invest Atlanta board met and approved a big wave of funding on Thursday for the rehabilitation of existing housing and the development of new affordable housing across the city.
In total, there are hundreds of new apartments, senior units, and some rehab projects that will be built or rebuilt with these dollars. Invest Atlanta is the city’s economic development agency that funds projects to grow neighborhoods and expand affordable housing.
The latest move draws back to the City of Atlanta's goal to push more affordable housing as costs continue to fluctuate.
A notable approval went to Clark Atlanta's Gaines Hall of $1 million to help stabilize and rehabilitate the residence hall. The funding will come from the Westside tax allocation district.
