TULARE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man who was seen brandishing a knife inside a McDonald's at a Tulare truck stop was arrested on Wednesday following a chase that led officers towards a freeway, according to the city's police department.
According to the Tulare Police Department, they received several calls about a possible robbery at the McDonald's inside the Love's Truck Stop in Tulare just before 7:30 a.m. Officers were then told that the suspect was now demanding money while brandishing a knife.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Deaunta Deshawn Stephens, running towards the freeway, police say.
