A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was tragically found dead at an address in Hereford.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Apple Tree Close in Bromyard at around 6am this morning (Saturday, September 27).

They discovered a 61-year-old woman at a property who was pronounced dead a short time later.

West Mercia Police have since arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

He remains in police custody at this time, a spokesperson for the force said.

They added: "A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman at an address on Apple Tree Close in Bromyard.
