A man was hospitalized after falling from a tree while archery hunting in central Minnesota last week.

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office said the incident happened around 12:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3 at a property approximately three miles north of Hillman.

According to the sheriff's office, a 61-year-old Little Falls man was approximately 20 feet up in a tree when he lost his balance and fell to the ground as he climbed.

He was taken by ambulance to Onamia Hospital with "unknown injuries", the agency said Monday.

According to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, stumbling and falling contributed to at least two firearm hunting injuries in Minnesota last year.

It's unclear how often archery hunting injuries are reported.
