MORGANTOWN, W.VA. — Girl Scout Zadie Behnke has earned the Gold Award, the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve, for her community project, " Trailhead History Exhibit ."

Behnke’s project celebrates Morgantown’s rich railroad and industrial history through a permanent outdoor photo exhibit located along the Mon River Rail-Trail. Featuring historic images, educational captions and Spanish translations, the display connects trail visitors to the area’s cultural heritage while promoting inclusivity and education.

"I wanted to help people understand how the railroads and local industry shaped our community," Behnke said. "So many of the places we pass by every day have fascinating stories behind them, and I wanted to bring those to light."
