CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Though drought conditions continue across The Mountain State, residents may see partial relief this week as rain — or even a few snow flurries — moves into the region from the west.
Experts said Hurricane Melissa is on track to move northeast, missing the east coast in general.
"There will be no impacts from Melissa on the east coast or West Virginia. The impact in West Virginia is actually going to be from a separate low-pressure center. It's going to come up through the Appalachians," said Chad Merrill, senior meteorologist at AccuWeather.
"That's going to bring a beneficial rain, a good inch to inch-and-a-half across the state during the middle part of the week."
While this incoming precipitation will bring some relief from the drought, it is not enough
