The former sheriff of Baldwin County and current executive director of the Alabama Sheriff’s Association Huey “Hoss” Mack is asking the state to provide a list of sheriff’s offices not reporting up-to-date crime data.
In an interview with Lagniappe, Mack said during a meeting of the Alabama Criminal Information Commission last Thursday in Montgomery, of which he is a member, it was revealed that about 15 percent, or 68 of the state’s police jurisdictions such as city police departments and county sheriff’s offices are not reporting crime data.
