HIGH POINT, N.C. — Former state representative Cecil Brockman, 41, of High Point, has posted his bond of $250,000 and is out of jail in connection with multiple sex crime allegations involving a minor.

According to court records, Brockman was initially arrested on October 8, 2025, on two counts each of statutory sexual offense with a child and taking indecent liberties with a child. Prosecutors allege the victim was 15 years old at the time of the incidents, which occurred around Aug. 15.

Investigators say Brockman met the teen on Grindr then lived with him in Atlanta before both moved to High Point a few months ago.

At the initial hearing, a Guilford County judge set a secured bond of approximately $1.05 million, citing flight risk and alleged attempts by Brockman to contact the victim
