Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is typically known for her refined approach to royal dressing – think smart florals, block colour dresses, and executive suits. Perhaps that is the reason why royal watchers were so pleasantly surprised to see the future queen take a walk on the wild side on Monday, with Victoria sporting a vibrant leopard print dress and animal-themed ensemble as she presented the Marcus Wallenberg Prize.

Celebration was the order of the day, as the intelligentsia gathered in Stockholm to mark some of the year’s most impressive scientific achievements. Crown Princess Victoria watched on as Dr Gerald Tuskan was awarded the Prize to recognise his work in sequencing the first tree genome in history.
