FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — One person was killed and another was hospitalized in a crash involving a semitrailer Thursday evening in southeast Franklin County, according to the sheriff's office.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened around 5:45 p.m. on state Route 327 east of Port Road in Madison Township.
A 2023 Volvo semi was traveling northeast on Route 317 and a 2021 Jeep Cherokee was heading the opposite way, the sheriff's office said.
The Jeep reportedly crossed the center line for an unknown reason and hit the semi head-on. The sheriff's office said the semi went into a ditch on the east side of the road while the Jeep landed on the west side.
